1. Protect your photos
For each photo, you can set who can view those pictures. Handy if you do not want the wrong people to see your personal photos get.
HOW?
Via 'Account> Privacy Settings> Customize settings "you with" things that I share' choose 'Edit privacy settings for existing photo albums and videos.
2. Filter your chatbox
Your friend lists you can use to make you invisible in your chat box for a specific list of friends.
HOW?
Click the gear icon at the bottom and then "restrict availability. You can then choose which lists you want to be visible, and which is not.
3. Avoid advertising
Facebook gives your images, not by companies to make advertising it. Or at least not 'yet'. You can already specify that you do this in the future will not, should it ever be so.
HOW?
Via 'Account> Account Settings> Facebook ads. Put both "third-party ads 'and' advertising 'and friends' best on 'nobody'.
4. Protect your cell phone number
Your cell phone number still does not need to be online? Maybe not. If you set clear that only your friends can see it, you can actually perfectly put your cell phone number on your Facebook. And if you click 'Account'> 'friends update> contacts' button, you'll immediately get a handy directory of your friends who have shared their cell phone number.
Attention: who has a smartphone, will find that the GSM numbers of your Facebook friends in your phone book on your phone emerge. You can also import the phone numbers from your smartphone in your phone book on Facebook. In both cases, these numbers are only visible to you.
5. Secure Surfing
Check here the URL in your address bar when you're on Facebook. If "http:" state instead of "https:" your Facebook Environment is NOT protected and can be hacked. Facebook is namely automatically so.
HOW?
Go to Account> Account Settings - Account Security "and then click Modify. Uncheck 'Use Facebook where possible with a secure connection (https)' checkbox.
